Got to see so many great friends last night! Definitely a bittersweet evening… So much fun & so much nostalgia, but also so glad to be moving on to the next big adventure (:
For those of you who don’t know, Eloi Eloi is my husband’s old band. The guys in that band have become like family to me over the years. They called it quits just before Laker & I got married, but they were asked to play a reunion show as a benefit concert. Proceeds went to funding a house for touring bands to stay at while on the road, & also working on a new venue - things we’re all very passionate about.

Eloi Eloi Band Practice
My husband (Laker, the drummer) & his band have a reunion show coming up on April 12 in Oklahoma City. Let me know if you want to come & I’ll give you more details!
They’re all really awesome guys & some of my dear friends (: I’m blessed to be a part of all this! There will be some other great bands & friends of mine playing the show too, so it’ll be a fun show! I think 90% of the bands are playing it as a reunion show, so it’s everyone’s first (& last) time playing together in a while!
I’ll be there taking pictures, & some cool people will be there hanging out (like Sami & Austin!). Come see us (:

THE WEDDING
The wedding is only a week away! I can’t wait!
First off, we were planning to have the wedding in the downstairs part of the Marland Mansion. However, we are now over capacity for the room we wanted to have the ceremony in (there’s 175 who have RSVP’d so far, & only 120 are allowed in the room), so we have to move everything upstairs. The reception will still be downstairs, but now we’ve got to figure out how to decorate the rest of the building…
One of our musicians had to cancel last minute, so that was unfortunate, but we have a new musician who is just as wonderful. It’ll all be great (:
I’ve just been reminding myself that regardless of what happens, everything will be beautiful & perfect. It’s going to be such a great day, & I get to marry my best friend & the love of my life. Nothing is worth getting stressed/upset about (:

I always think it’s funny that I’m the bride-elect, like I’m running for office, & he’s the prospective groom, like I might pick someone else before the wedding gets here.

GIFTS
A lot of people have been asking us what we still need/want. If you would like to get us a gift, we are registered at www.walmart.com & www.bedbathandbeyond.com. However, there really aren’t a lot of things left that we need…
We need some big things, like a TV for the living room, a nice camera, a vaccuum, tools, a mixer, & an electric grill. All of those are a lot to ask from one person, though. We hate asking for money, but in all honesty, here’s what we need/want:
- Walmart gift cards (for groceries, or to combine & put towards the big items)
- Other grocery/shopping cards
- Gas cards
- Restaurant gift cards (We’ll be broke for a long time, so it would be nice to be able to go out occasionally!)
- Gift cards to other fun places for date nights/days… The zoo, movie passes, entertainment stores (Barnes & Noble, Hastings, Blockbuster…) etc.
- Money to put towards the honeymoon
- Board/card games
- Anything you see that makes you think of us, or that you think we might like (:
HONEYMOON
Right after the reception, we’re driving to Eureka Springs for our honeymoon.
We’re staying at this resort, in Swiss Chalet II. It’s so pretty! & it’s a treehouse, so that’s going to be fun (:

IN OTHER NEWS…
Eloi Eloi played their last show a couple of weeks ago. It was bittersweet… The ending of a great time in our lives, but the beginning of an even better one (: I got to shoot some photos. I’ll edit them when I have some free time (if that ever happens!) But for now, here’s one of my favorite shots of Laker from that night…
I also got to go to a gorgeous wedding yesterday & take photos (Again… They’ll be posted when I have time to edit them!). The wedding was in Sulphur, & I got to see my friend Emma, who I hadn’t seen in ages.
& the bride was so gorgeous! She went to UCO with me, & we also worked together at Pink Swirls. She is one of the most wonderful people I’ve ever met… So sweet & caring (: Jeremy is a lucky man! He seems like a great guy too… We decided we’re going to be married couple friends, so I can’t wait to get to know him better!

Shakespeare collection, photo album, & other books. The red Winnie the Pooh book is a gift from my mom, & the blue is thrifted. The tea pot is Korean… a gift from my mom (auction).
My favorite Alice book… It was my mom’s when she was little. Another Korean teapot, & some other photo albums & books.
Cookbooks
The cookbooks were all shower gifts, the owl bookends were thrifted, & the handsome fella on the right is my dad. It’s his senior photo.
These were taken two weeks ago. We’ve had a countdown going for a while (: & the dream catcher I made several months ago. It’s got peacock feathers on it (:
I’m excited to get the rest of the apartment settled & show it off!
& I’m even more excited to get married! It’s going to be the greatest :D

Valentine’s Day.
Valentine’s Day… Ugh. Every time I walk into Walmart & see the giant section of lame gifts, it fills me with dread. Even McAlister’s had decorations up. Why? Why does Valentine’s Day even exist?
I am so stoked that the guys have a show on Valentine’s Day.
It’s just such a stupid holiday, & I’m so glad I won’t have to deal with it. Instead, I’ll be spending the night in Springfield, worshiping with some of my favorite people. (:
